Mismanagement of state and county grants at Halifax County Community Development Corporation resulted in unauthorized payments to the former executive director, former administrative assistant and various consultants and vendors. Some specific findings include: 1. The former executive director received $12,681.66 in unauthorized payments. 2. The former administrative assistant received $14,240.18 in unauthorized payments. 3. Numerous unauthorized payments totaling $25,363.32 were made from the HCCDC checking account.
