Our audit identified matters that are considered reportable under Government Auditing Standards. These matters include: 1) The Board does not assess the severity of violations identified during facility inspections to determine if re-inspections or more frequent inspections are needed. 2) The Board does not have a process to verify the continuing education hours reported by veterinarians and veterinary technicians are valid. 3) The Board's method of publicizing the license status of and disciplinary actions against veterinarians and veterinary technicians does not allow the public easy access to the information.
