Auditors found that the Halifax Community College Board of Trustees approved a new employment contract for the President without advance notice of significant contract amendments. They also determined the President received $15,806 in questionable travel reimbursements, insurance-related fringe benefit payments and automotive services for his personal vehicle. The President also leased college property without authorization from the State Board of Community Colleges. In addition, auditors found the Executive Secretary to the president deleted files from her computer after the college was notified of the investigation. See related management letter, INV-2005-0284.
