Investigators determined that the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (School) misappropriated an Apple MacBook Pro laptop computer. The CIO requisitioned the laptop computer through the School, and then gave it to her son for his personal use. The investigation also identified internal control deficiencies relative to tracking School equipment in certain departments and obtaining supervisory approval for equipment purchases.
