The audit found that the North Carolina Virtual Public School is currently offering courses that do not meet the content and design standards established in statute and policy and as advertised in NCVPS’ course guarantee. The audit also found that NCVPS did not perform teacher evaluations consistently and in accordance with its policy and that certain courses contained third-party content without proper citation. The Department of Public Instruction disagreed with certain findings and recommendations in the report. As a result, the report includes a State Auditor’s Response to ensure that readers have complete and accurate information and are not misled.
