A new report from the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) shows the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) followed its budget plan for state fiscal year 2024.

Today, State Auditor Dave Boliek sent Gov. Josh Stein the following response to his request for Council of State concurrence on Executive Orders No. 1 and 2:

Dear Governor Stein,

The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) released a performance audit on the Department of Commerce, Division of Employment Security (DES) to determine whether DES implemented corrective actions in response to OSA’s 2022 audit concerning the timeliness of first unemployment benefit payments. This audit found that DES did not fully implement corrective actions.
