On May 2, 2000, our office received an allegation through the State Auditors Hotline concerning political activities being conducted at the North Carolina Council for Women. According to the complaint, telephone calls were made to solicit support for a candidate running for 10th District Court Judge. Based on our investigation, we found that the Executive Director of the Council authorized the use of a State building for political purposes.
