As part of an audit of the State Construction Office, the Office of the State Auditor held a series of four public hearings asking for comments from contractors and the public. The included summaries are intended to give the reader a general understanding of the issues raised by speakers at those public meetings in Durham, Greenville, Charlotte and Morganton. The points listed are the thoughts and opinions of the speakers and may or may not be fact. Comments relative to the Department of Insurance and the Department of Labor may or may not be directly related to the State Construction Office process under audit.
