Data Analytics Internships

The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor is searching for an intern to serve on our Data Analytics Team. Within this internship you will gain hands-on experience through directly working on projects assigned to the Data Analytics Team.  

As a Data Analytics Intern, you will work on projects that transform raw data into actionable insights for audit and oversight activities. You’ll assist in performing targeted analyses to identify trends, anomalies, and key performance indicators that inform decision-making. In addition, you’ll develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, enabling auditors and stakeholders to quickly interpret complex data. These projects will give you hands-on experience applying analytical techniques and visualization best practices to support real-world audit objectives. 

Qualifications

• Rising junior, senior or graduate student senior or graduate student majoring in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Experience with Excel and Power BI (or similar data visualization tool)
• Experience with SQL and/or Python preferred but not required

• Internship will be hosted in the Raleigh headquarters office
