Special Investigations Internships
Do you have an interest in investigating public corruption?
Do you believe those who misuse taxpayer money through fraud should be held accountable? Do you want to be a part of the team that does that?
The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor is seeking motivated interns who will work with the investigative audit team to research, analyze data, conduct audit testing, and provide support for more complex investigations.
The internship program is designed to provide a realistic preview of a career in governmental auditing and financial investigations based on practical experience in active financial investigations
It is essential that applicants have strong communication skills and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Rising senior or graduate student majoring in accounting (or related program) from an accredited/college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Program Details
- Spring 2026
- Competitive hourly rate
- Internship will be hosted in the Raleigh office
- Commitment of at least 20 hours per week
